Eleanor Doermann
"I have worked primarily with color pencils for thirty years. I enjoy layering unusual combinations of colors to achieve the magical effects of light and shadow. My subjects include close-up studies (rocks, leaves, flowers, shells), sweeping landscapes from my travels, and an occasional portrait, working from my own reference photographs. I love how the abstract shapes I discover within the details of a photograph add up to a realistic but not strictly literal drawing."
