Artists United of South King County Standing Rules -
Approved April 2, 2024
Standing rules are operating guidelines not covered in the bylaws. Standing rules may be amended at a regular meeting by a majority vote of members present at such meeting. Proposed Standing Rules text will be sent to active members via email two weeks prior to scheduled voting.

1. All official club communications will be by e-mail.
2. Meetings will be held monthly as scheduled and conducted using a yearly schedule set by the Board. July and August meetings will not include business that requires voting.
3. Existing members’ annual dues are set at $40 and are payable each September. Members who have not paid by the December meeting will be dropped from the member roster.
4. Deadline for paying member dues and fees for the purpose of being allowed to exhibit at the Cove Show are determined in the Cove Show Handbook.
5. Commission on artwork sold at club-sanctioned shows and venues shall be a maximum of 10%, unless a non-AU venue also requires a commission, in which Commissions will be withheld from the artist’s sales. Artists are responsible for any booth fees.
6. The demonstration honorarium will be paid at a rate of $100 plus excessive transportation expenses. A club member may be compensated for a club demonstration for expenses incurred only.
7. Artwork of the Month first place winner will hang in a designated spot in the community for one month. The Artwork of the Month Chair will determine such location. A member may only receive this honor once in a club year.
8. The resident or an officer of the club appointed by the president will be authorized to receive and distribute club mail.
9. Artist United shows with prizes (i.e. such as juried shows) will require an entry fee which is to be determined per even ​
